AFCIA was co-founded by Homa Taraji and Hamid Ladjevardi to establish a non-profit foundation led by a group of distinguished Americans and Iranians with a long-term commitment to developing strong cultural ties between the United States and Iran with the following construct:

• Board of Directors
• Advisory Council
• Honorary Committee

Board of Directors Roles and Responsibilities

- Actively engage in fund raising efforts to support annual operations through events and contributions
- Identify additional board of directors and advisory board members
- Form an executive committee of the board, which will actively participate in Board meetings. The Board will consist of the following positions:
        - Chairman
        - Vice Chairman
        - Treasurer
        - Secretary
        - Development Committee Chair
        - Exhibition Sub-committee Chair
        - Fund Raising Committee Chair
        - Grants and Scholarships Sub-committee Chair
        - Public Relations Sub-committee Chair
