Echoes in Blue is returning to Los Angeles

AFCIA is planning Echoes in Blue, an exhibition of the work of contemporary Iranian artists, held at the James Gray Gallery in Bergamot Station (www.jamesgraygallery.com) from October 16 - November 15, 2010. The opening reception will be on Saturday, October 16 from 6:00-9:00pm.

Echoes in Blue is the name of a touring exhibition of the work of Iranian artists who live and work in Iran. It celebrates the vitality and diversity of contemporary Iranian paintings as they have emerged over the last three decades in spite of strict economical, social, and political constraints.

The origin of the name “Echoes in Blue” lies in a poem by Forough Farrokhzad, Iran’s legendary woman poet (1933-1967). In her poem, she refers to “the night Isfahan was filled with the echoes of blue tiles.”

Echoes in Blue is returning to L.A. after successful exhibitions in New York, Houston, Boston, and Los Angeles.
